Your Healthier Life, Simplified

If your week starts with good intentions and quietly unravels by Wednesday, this isn’t a motivation problem.
It’s a design problem.
In my work supporting families and women with sleep, routines, and habit change, I see this pattern constantly: routines fail not because people lack discipline, but because their systems ask too much of them.
Most routines are built for an ideal version of you.
Well-rested. Fully focused. Interrupted by nothing.
That’s not real life.
What actually creates lasting change is reducing friction and starting small enough that your nervous system doesn’t resist the habit in the first place.
This is where micro-habits matter.
Micro-habits work because they’re repeatable. They require very little energy, bypass overwhelm, and create momentum through consistency. Big shifts don’t come from doing more. They come from enough small things becoming automatic.
A more effective way to build routines
Instead of asking, “How do I fix my whole week?”
Ask, “What is one small change that makes my week easier?”
Here’s how I guide people through that process:
• Shrink before you improve
If a routine feels hard to maintain, simplify it first. Consistency comes from ease, not intensity.
• Replace intensity with repetition
A five-minute habit done daily is far more effective than a thirty-minute routine done occasionally.
• Anchor habits to what already exists
Attach new habits to current ones. This reduces effort and increases follow-through.
• Let “minimum effective” count
On hard days, maintaining the habit is the win. Growth follows stability.
Your Weekly Reset
Each week, choose one routine or habit that feels heavier than it should.
Then ask:
What is the smallest version of this that still supports me?
What can I remove instead of improve?
Where is this asking more from me than necessary?
Make one micro-adjustment. That’s the reset.
If you’d like a simple place to start, I created a December Reset Checklist with small, practical shifts you can make this month to reduce overwhelm and regain momentum.
