Concrete Tips for Managing This Holiday Season

These are simple, practical steps you can implement today — not overwhelming, not all-or-nothing.

1. Clear Your Mental Load in the Morning

Before the day takes off, write down:

  • What absolutely must happen today

  • What would be nice, but is optional

  • What can wait

This one clarity practice can calm your entire nervous system.

2. Protect One Daily Anchor Routine

Choose one routine to keep consistent through the holidays:

  • kids’ bedtime

  • your wind-down routine

  • Give yourself permission to rest

If your child’s sleep is off, or if your sleep is fragmented, address it now — not in January.

  • noting must-do tasks
